Josh & Nicki
Every love story has a beginning, and for Nikki and Josh, their love story really began to blossom halfway across the world.
“It all started when I went backpacking through Europe, and Ireland ended up being a safe-haven for me. I literally Googled, ‘What are the safest places in Europe,’ and ended up here by accident. Josh and I had only been dating for about two weeks, and the majority of time I had been in Ireland. We were sending these long messages back and forth, and that’s how we really got to know each other. That’s how we really started dating – halfway across the world and sending messages to each other.”
It didn’t take long before the two began their wedding planning journey, and naturally the couple decided on the beautiful Mount Juliet Estate in Kilkenny, Ireland.
The wedding weekend kicked off just like any wedding would – with the girls taking archery lessons, and the boys going to the local shooting range. When the big day finally arrived, their family and friends witnessed the union between two amazing humans unfold, right in front of the 270-year-old Manor House.
“The Manor House is the beating heart of the estate and has been ever since the first Earl of Carrick and his wife Juliet first made it their home in 1750,” describes the Mount Juliette website. “Step through its pillared entrance way and you enter a place out of time: lovingly preserved for the present-day; intimately updated in the most faithful manner.
A sense of romance – of people and place and time turned into something truly special – touches every inch of the Manor House, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the 32 unique bedrooms. While many of them share their captivating views of the River Nore and the paddocks of the Ballylinch Stud, each one is individually designed and named after a famous figure connected with the area or estate.”
The weekend didn’t end of the day of their wedding, though. The very next day, Nikki and Josh put their wedding clothes back on, and we spent the day shooting at some of Kilkenny’s and the surrounding areas most iconic locations.
